Pals

The same idea as Marriage, for a different pair — two friends keeping each other honest. No coach, no mentor.

A small group is trying the iPhone app, including paying through Apple.

The app

Goals and personal growth for two people who’ve agreed to show up for each other. What you write with a Pal never mixes with what you write in Marriage. Even we can’t join those together.

Pals is smaller on purpose. Two people. Shared goals. A private half. No mentor. It’s for the friend you text “did you run?” — without turning that into another group chat that scrolls away.

Writing on your own is free. Inviting someone in is Premium. The person you invite doesn’t need their own subscription. Paying for Premium is not a login to your writing — a billing mix-up can’t open your journal.

Why it isn't like the others

What makes it different

Same idea, different people

Built like Marriage, but it isn’t Marriage with the labels swapped. No mentor. Just the two of you.

Inviting is paid. Joining is free.

You can write alone for free. When you’re ready to bring a Pal in, that’s Premium. They scan in — they don’t have to pay.

Paying isn’t an account

Paying is just paying. It isn’t a username for your writing, and it can’t be used to open your journal.

No mentor, on purpose

Just the two of you. The mentor idea belongs in Marriage. Putting it here would have been easy, and wrong.

One more thing

A few more details

  • One Tendiem Premium covers Marriage and Pals (and later apps). Care may be priced on its own.
  • People trying the iPhone app can already subscribe through Apple.
